Shop Web Design - Bottega

The owner of Bottega, already had a site which had been developed by another web design company. However, this site was very basic and she was looking for a new site with a cleaner and more sophisticated image.

When she approached Webcreationz she was pleased with the price we quoted for a complete web desvelopment solution, especially as it would be a custom website, and not a template based solution.

The site is a 4 page website, but to add variety, the main image on the right hand side of each page has been programmed to randomly change each time the site is viewed, thus providing the ability for a wider range of the shops clothing to be displayed on the site, without adding more pages.

Due to the street layour of Knutsford, the owner of the shop was keen to include a map illustrating the location of the shop at street level. To keep costs down we have used the free mapping service of www.streetmap.co.uk, this allows us to display a detailed street level map of the area at no cost to the client, but has the disadvantage that the page is displayed in a new window outside the main site itself.

This is a different approach to the one we took with the Douglas Arms Hotel site who preferred a simple street level map which was produced by hand by our graphic designer, but which integrates with the site in placement and style much better than the the solution used by Bottega.

The entire development cycle took approximately four weeks and the client was extremely happy with the site and since going live the site has generated a significant number of enquiries via the feedback form. More importantly these enquiries have come from a much wider area than that which the shop would normally attract customers from.
